A "meeting of the minds" is always very important to prevent misunderstandings. I love working with you. You are really the best, the most polite, and the fairest. ... You are absolutely one of the best people with whom I have had the pleasure of working. ... That's what I like about you, you are honest, and that's a quality getting ever harder to find. For me that's even more important than fantastic skills. If someone isn't honest, that's it for me. ... The cost, no big deal. I have faith in you.

— Bert Dohmen, CEO, Dohmen Capital Group

I designed Bert's book site for him and put it all together in a day. As with all clients, I don't bill anything for 5- or 10-minute tasks (webpage updates, a quick animated-gif banner, some little bit of writing, a business card, that sort of thing).

You beat ANYBODY, HANDS DOWN, ANYWHERE. I thank you for your understanding [and want] to show my amazed and profound gratitude. I have learned so much, and you have given me such a totally wonderful experience. (And totally unexpected. I had no idea people like you existed.) Erik, you are a miracle. I must say, thanks again, I can't stop … and thanks from my husband too!!

— Ann Convery, PR Consultant

I produced a series of posters for this wonderful lady. In all honesty, she designed them and I was her "production artist." I created three posters, explaining every step, educating her about the art and craft of communication, as I call it – and she had a true epiphany. Apparently no one ever told her anything about design or print production. What a shame!

I keep reading the press release over and over. I love it! And I like it just the way you had it the first time! Amazing!

— Betsy Mendel, Awareables.com

Great piece on Chinese production ... You really covered all the bases. It was very well written, clear and concise. I think it's the best article you've written for us.

— Steve Javors, Managing Editor, XBiz Premiere

"The China Syndrome: Adult Toys Go Global" was my 40th article for this magazine since December 2005.

My sincerest heartfelt thanks to Erik Jay, the “fixer,” who tied all the loose ends together for me with such great adeptness and creativity.

— Rick Gire, President, RMJ Publishing

From the foreword to a book for which I did final copy edits, revised page layout, corrected cover art and type errata, etc.

I truly respect your work and your drive. You're a big part of our future [and] I'll be throwing you so much … work, you may have to turn some down! Good luck with your current endeavors, I look forward to working with you on future ones. And thanks for hooking up my girl, Kim. She sings your praises as well! (See below.)

— Edwardo Jackson, Author/Publisher, Principal of JCM Publishing

Erik Jay, my editor and a really cool guy, thank you for transforming my words into a readable manuscript; don’t lose that eclectic personality!

— K. Elle Collier, Author

From the foreword to a book for which I did substantive copy edits, page layout, cover design and typography, marketing materials, etc.
